Research area
I am a political scientist with research interests in healthcare provision and policy, with a particular focus on the way in which legal and other regulatory frameworks are implemented in everyday healthcare practice. I explore the ethical challenges that arise from such frameworks and problematise their practical relevance. I also study decision-making processes that produce regulatory structures disconnected from, or misaligned with, the real-world implications of healthcare. My research is grounded in empirical social science and primarily employs interpretative methods.
